Similar Projects

Saving the Amazon Rainforest is a huge project that nobody can do alone.

Teamwork. Permaculture.

Our effort here in Badass Fruiterrarist Land is not intended to be a stand-alone solution to the destruction of the Amazon. Many similar projects are needed in the many other areas that have been destroyed, and we recognise that not everyone will want to live in an area with such a splendiferous climate as we have here, so we encourage others to start or join similar projects elsewhere in the Amazon and wherever forests are threatened by human activity.

Here we list (in alphabetical order) other reforestation projects that align with our Core Values. Do you have your own project or know of a project that we should add to this list? Would you like to collaborate? Get in touch with us!

Terra Frutis

Terra Frutis was founded as an “anti-establishment movement with food production, health and community as important aspects.” It is (to our knowledge) the most established raw vegan/fruitarian and sustainable food forest project in Ecuador. Located in a river valley along Rio Zamora in Morona-Santiago, “Mount Frutis” ranges from 720m at the river to 1200m at the summit. The land spans 136 hectares and includes a large expanse of primary forest with a spring-fed mountain stream, but at least 50 hectares was previously deforested for cow pasture and monoculture banana and cacao plantations. The cow pasture and secondary overgrowth have already been partially reforested with thousands of fruit trees, but much more work is needed in order to exterminate the demon grass. Contact the nice folks at Terra Frutis via their website for information on how to join.
